Marie & I went to Snowdens on Sunday 12 Feb but there was a dingy regatta and a full car park. I had been told about a ramp between the Yacht Squadron and Outer Harbour passenger wharf. The concrete ramp is in just useable condition and fairly steep. I tied a rope to my trailer/cart and pulled it up the ramp with Marie guiding the jockey wheel which worked well. An interesting sail, dodging all the other craft. Tacked towards the end of the breakwater then back to the sand dunes for lunch. There were three ocean liners in and a big crowd of boats. We also went to beacons 28 and 29 which looks like it is where the cut through to Barker inlet is located. As it was low tide, the cut through was well and truly dry. One day, I will launch there again and try the cutting at high tide. Appears to be right opposite St Kilda too. Marie didn’t particularly enjoy the sail back, got a bit rough and wet going windward. Still a different and interesting place for a Hobie Island.
